Arifa Kokab

Biomedical Neuroscientist,
Applied AI Engineer and Scientific Entrepreneur

ABOUT ME

Hi! I’m Arifa Kokab, a neurodivergent AI engineer, biomedical neuroscience researcher, and scientific founder of The Neurobusiness Corporation. I have an interesting mix of Autism and ADHD.I hold dual graduate degrees: a Master of Science in Engineering in Applied Artificial Intelligence and an Executive MBA in Business Analytics. I am currently pursuing a Master of Medical Science in Biomedical Neuroscience at the McKnight Brain Institute in the University of Florida. My work stands at the intersection of biomedical neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and ethical innovation, where I design intelligent systems that deepen our understanding of the human brain and improve human wellbeing. I am especially passionate about applying AI to accelerate research in neurodegenerative diseases, with the goal of advancing early detection, monitoring, and treatment outcomes.I have developed several applied AI systems, including a Facial Expression Analysis model based on MobileNetV2 for real-time emotion recognition, and a multimodal predictive neuromarketing AI model that combines EEG, GSR, ECG, eye-tracking, and facial expression analysis data to interpret emotional engagement (my proprietary software for The Neurobusiness Corporation). I also developed an AI model that can identify (if any) and then classify the type of brain tumor based on MRI images. You can find all my projects on my GitHub profile.Building on this foundation, I founded the CarePathAI Foundation, a nonprofit initiative dedicated to creating open-access AI tools for biomedical and neurological research. Through this foundation, I developed and publicly released a voice-based Parkinson’s Disease biomarker model that estimates disease presence and progression from vocal patterns. My goal is to continue expanding this effort by releasing more publicly accessible AI models that empower researchers, clinicians, and students worldwide.I believe that the most meaningful technology does more than automate processes, it amplifies human understanding. My mission is to advance biomedical neuroscience through AI, developing safe, transparent, and ethical technologies that serve both scientific discovery and humanity’s wellbeing.Beyond research, I am the creator and host of TheBusinessScientist101, a YouTube channel where I make complex ideas in AI, biomedical neuroscience, and business strategy accessible to a global audience. I also post my original academic scientific presentations from my graduate coursework too.I author “Whispers of an Autistic Mind,” a reflective blog exploring neurodivergence, creativity, and the human condition through the lens of science and self-awareness. I write my thoughts in the most rawest form possible, to showcase how can Autistic mind really thinks. As a motivational speaker and advocate for neurodiversity, I speak to high school and university audiences about resilience, emotional intelligence, navigating life's challenges and turning obstacles into innovation. My long-term vision is to contribute as a keynote speaker, researcher, and thought leader while continuing my academic journey through an MD/Ph.D under the MSTP program, specializing as a board-certified neurologist to unite medical expertise with AI research.I aspire to help shape a future where neuroscience and technology work together to heal, understand, and uplift humanity.
